The Providence of God: Part 3

One of the early church fathers once said that if the whole of Scripture was a feast for the soul, Romans 8 was the main dish. Romans 8:28-31 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”

Now as we continue our study on the Providence of God, you will recall that in our last lesson we looked at the popular passage in Roman 8:28, where the apostle, with tremendous optimism tells us “All things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.” Hopefully, you remember in that discussion that I raised the point that everything that happens to us being ultimately good.
