Pastor, thank you for your response.

I don't want to debate hair length but short is shorn, and short isn't long, and long is glorious. Even nature teaches that long hair is a glory to women, for her hair is given her for a covering. Born again women will desire long hair and, medical reasons aside, will grow it long. What an honor and privilege it is for godly women to have long hair!

So I’m simply stating the obvious: A short-haired woman who covers her head isn’t obeying 1 Corinthians 11. She’s already cut-off her glory, so what’s the point? Covered with fabric or not, her head is uncovered.

Dear Kate:

First of all, thank you for taking the time to respond to the article on 1 Corinthians 11 concerning head covering. To start with, yes I do believe that men are to be uncovered and women are to be covered when in the public service, as the Word of God stated "the man is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man." This chapter is teaching Divine order, "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man and the head of Christ is God.” The head covering is a symbol that shows the women is compliant with that Divine order and is in submission to the man. That doesn't mean a groveling type of bondage, but a beautiful submission where the man and woman both recognize the order that God has ordained.

I'm not sure where you're getting the statement that I believe it’s "okay for my wife to have shorn hair". That's not a true statement, my wife doesn't have her hair shorn and if she did, yes I would agree with you that it would be a mockery to wear a head covering. Some women might have a medical reason to have their head shorn and wear a head covering, which would not be a mockery.
Please remember, the head covering is a symbol of where ones heart is, similar to other ordinaces, like baptism, foot washing, the wedding ring and etc.

May the Lord bless you "exceedingly, abundantly above all that you ask or think, according to the power that works in you."

Grace and Peace
Pastor John

I agree, there are zero contradictions in 1 Corinthians 11 and the verses reinforce one another. But do you really believe this? If so, please tell me why do you believe it’s okay for your wife to have shorn hair. Paul would say that any woman who covers her shorn hair with a headcovering veil is a religious hypocrite, as even nature teaches us this.

When you say “created in His image,” … do you mean only believers? The way its written I would believe you are talking about all persons, because all who are born are created in His image. If that be the case, then you are a Universalist and that is anti-Scriptural.

God will not put any child created in his image no matter what their sins into a hell fire. It never entered God’s heart or mind to ever do such a thing Jer 7:31, Jer 19:5.
I would like to invite you to read http://minigoodtale.wordpress.com where the true word is delivered and proven.
